Lifestyle Check
Before you start househunting, you need to
ask yourself why you’re really buying a waterfront property. Is it because you
want to try out water sports or is it because you want to get away from the
city? This should help narrow down your choices based on where your prospects
are located. If you find a nice property but it’s not convenient for your
lifestyle choices, look for another place.
While you’re at it, get an insider’s view from the people around the neighborhood. Ask them how it is living in the area and what the neighborhood is like to get a general feel.
Closer Look
Don’t buy a gorgeous piece of real estate
just because you fell in love with it at first sight. Do a little more
exploring to see if the house has any problems. Better yet, have someone
inspect the house for signs of wear, structural damage, and electrical issues.
It’s better to know what kind of fixes the house needs before you’re
permanently saddled with it after a purchase.
